3 Tips To Increase Customer Traffic At Your Barber Shop

To thrive as a local business, an anfa barber shop needs to be affordable, have experienced barbers, and offer superb work. If you can offer this in a competitive market, your customers will be pleased, and they will keep coming back. If you have been in business for a little while, you probably have a pretty loyal customer base, and your staff likely greets your customers by name when they walk in the door. The question now is: how do you get more customers to walk through that door? While it may seem like a simple question, it can quickly overwhelm you. Here are three tips to increase your barber shop's customer traffic.

Tip #1: Familiarize Yourself with Your Community

As a local business, it is imperative that you get to know other businesses in the community, including local publications and businesses that may be interested in partnering with you for advertising. In doing this, you will be able to put up flyers, leave business cards, etc. to advertise your business—but make sure that you are willing to do the same for their business at your barber shop.

Tip #2: Offer Incentives to Customers

One of the most effective ways to get customers in your door is to offer excellent deals that simply cannot be turned down. Some great ideas include half-priced cuts or complimentary services with regular-priced haircuts. Once you have decided on your promotion, make sure that your customers know about it by placing a coupon or ad in a local publication, advertising on the radio, hanging a sign in your window, and/or promoting it on Groupon.

Tip #3: Offer a Customer Referral Program

Most businesses have some type of customer loyal/customer referral program available, so why should your barber shop be any different? After all, you treat your customers like their family, so they should be rewarded when they bring additional business in for you. When a customer sends in a referral, offer a free service to them, such as a haircut. In doing so, more of your customers will start spreading the word about your barber shop and the great service that you provide, and before long, you will see a lot more foot traffic coming through that front door of yours.
